Non Violence International Film Festival

Monday, September 15, 2008

The first weekend of the 2nd annual Non Violence International Film Festival has been a fantastic experience for those closest to it. There was a nice connection between volunteers, visiting film makers and audience members as a common spirit was shared.

Q & A following the films by directors, Ken Kimmelman ("Hot Afternoons Have Been In Montana") and Barbara Becnel ("Tribute: Stanley Tookie Williams") whose causes are very close to their hearts. We are grateful to them for sharing with us.
The Cinewoman NY`s sidebar presentation was followed by Q & A with a panel consisting of Alison MacMahan, co-director of
Cinewoman NY, WLU professors, Dr. Helen Ramirez, and Katherine Spring. The discussion was informative and inspiring.
Conversations and the festival`s spirit continued in restaurants and cafés in
Kitchener and Waterloo.
Sunday"s workshop, "Models of Non Violence" was a look at how we are positively influenced by the lives of others - famous, friends, family or fiction.
