NVIFF Opening Ceremonies Friday September 12, KSTC

The Opening Ceremonies of the 2nd Annual Non Violence International Film Festival welcomes the public and members of the film community to give recognition to this important Regional Festival.

The King Street Theatre Centre hosts entertainment, refreshment and conversation beginning at 6:30.

Four inspiring short films start the season off at 7pm beginning with the Academy^TM nominated, "I Met the Walrus". Two student shorts; "Ten Reais", from Brazil and "The Bike", from Russia were submissions under this year’s new Student Submissions category. And, "Hot Afternoons Have Been in Montana" will be accompanied by words from the director, Ken Kimmelman.

Refreshments, entertainment and conversation continue following the viewing.

Admission is $10, with a cash bar.

The NVIFF has begun negotiations with the Frederick Twin Cinemas.

Monday, October 15, 2007
The NVIFF will begin accepting submissions on December 1st, 2007 for the 2008 season.

Submission deadline is June 1st 2008.

Sunday, September 2, 2007
The NVIFF has begun discussions with local high schools and universities to host and participate in the student levels of the festival.

Thursday, August 23, 2007
The NVIFF announces its student level entry system.
