The principal objective of the noncompetitive Non Violence International Film Festival is to promote and encourage an awareness, appreciation and understanding of the art of cinema and to inspire through film while not promoting discrimination or violence. Its mandate is to present the most out-standing films produced in every part of the world. Films are selected on the basis of quality, originality and subject matter. Preference is given to premieres and films that deal with Non Violence. The Festival also promotes contacts between industry professionals to assist in the development of Non Violence within the motion picture industry.
The Non Violence International Film Festival will be held from October 2 to 11, 2009.
The Festival Organizing Committee reserves the right to rule on cases not foreseen by these regulations, but in accordance with International Regulations. Participation in the Non Violence International Film Festival implies acceptance of the Rules and Regulations by producers and their agents. Should the meaning of these regulations be contested, the English version will be considered the authentic one.
For programming consideration, the Festival accepts (NTSC or PAL) DVDs. The Festival will not consider trailers for selection purposes.
DVDs must be formatted in MPEG video.
Please test computer-burned DVDs on several makes and models of players before sending. DVD+RW and DVD-RW are not accepted.
THERE IS A SUBMISSION FEE OF $40 CAD FOR ALL NON STUDENT SUBMISSIONS AND $10 CAD FOR ALL STUDENT SUBMISSIONS.
The submission deadline for selection purposes is April 1, 2008. The Festival is not obliged to view late entries.

Festival Programmers select and invite all films presented at the Festival. Filmmakers selected to participate will be notified by July 1, 2008.
Filmmakers not selected will be notified by email.
Fax and/or international post will be used where no email address is available.
